Three Doyle Management athletes won USA Indoor titles Feb 25-26 in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Reese Hoffa began the weekend winning his second USA Indoor Championship in the shot put. His first USA Indoor title came in 2006 before going on to win the World Indoor Championship that season. DMG swept the long jump titles as Ashton Eaton shocked many by defeating pre-meet favorite Will Claye with an indoor personal best jump of 8.06-meters. Eaton is also the decathlon gold medal favorite at the upcoming World Indoor Championships. In the women's event, Janay DeLoach slayed the dragon for the second year in a row as she defeated Brittney Reese, the defending World Indoor Champion. Janay also finished 7th in the 60-meter hurdle final after running a personal best time of 7.98 in the semi-final. Reigning triple jump World Champion Christian Taylor finished runner-up in the triple jump despite fouling four attempts. On Christian's last attempt, he fouled what would have been a new American record of 17.82 meters.
The World Indoor Championships will take place March 9-11 in Istanbul, Turkey.
