Clay Time! Athens medallist wins Beijing Spot

Clay, a silver medalist at the Athens Olympics, won the U.S. Olympic track trials Monday with a score of 8832, his personal record, and also the best mark in the United States in 16 years and best in the world in four years.

World Lead Secures Heptathlon Title for Clay

Christopher's Perseverance Pays Off

Nelson bounces back with World Leading Throw
On Friday February 1st, Reese Hoffa and Adam Nelson took to the throwing ring in front of hundreds of fans at Madison Square Garden.  The Millrose Games is the longest continuing sporting event at the venue, having been there since 1914.  Both athletes were looking to bounce back from defeat by Christian Cantewell at the Boston Games last week.  Nelson had a massive 22.07m throw, setting the Madison Square Garden record and recording the world leading throw of 2008 to date.  Hoffa struggled but managed 21.13m, good enough for third.

Indoor Season Opening Day for Many DMG Athletes

The Boston Indoor Games set the stage for great indoor season opening performances for World Indoor hopefuls Charles Allen CAN, Brianna Glenn USA, Christin Wurth-Thomas USA, Adam Nelson USA, and reigning World Indoor Champion Reese Hoffa.  Hoffa and Nelson took 2nd and 3rd in the shot put with throws over 20m.  Glenn proved her fitness by placing 2nd in the women's 60m at 7.34s.  Allen took 4th in the men's 60m hurdles at 7.70s  and Wurth-Thomas took 4th in a personal best 8:54.97s in the 3000m.  

Across the pond at the Irish Champs in Belfast were Robby Hughes USA, Peter Coghlan IRL, Josh Norman USA, Jamie Nieto USA, and Fanni Juhasz of Hungary.  Norman, who is now training under a new coach in Florida, grabbed 2nd in the men's 60m at 6.71s.  Coghlan and Hughes took the 1 and 2 spots in the men's 60m hurdles at 7.80 and 7.85 respectively.  Nieto had a great jump of 2.26m for 1st and Juhasz placed 2nd in the women's 60m hurdles at 8.48s.  Keep checking in to see how the Indoor season pans out!
